Television
Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!
Jonathan's story will be featured on Channel 2's Sports Extra at 10:20 this Sunday night, July 10, at about 10:20 pm. (That's ABC-WKRN in Nashville.) You may have seen a teaser last Monday night.
John Dwyer and Tim McDaniel have been absolutely marvelously in dealing with our family and with Jonathan as they have prepared this story. Kudos to them and their organization for acting with integrity, class, diligence, and kindness - traits not found often enough among sports media these days.
As for our non-TV reality world, the routine goes on at Nashville Rehabilitation Hospital (which you will see on the TV piece and deserves all the good PR they can get.) Jonathan has therapy 3 hours each morning, followed by an hour or so of dressing changes, afternoon food and rest, and then usually a nightime activity or visit. Last night we had a bridge party with Mimi (aka, Mary Letta, paternal grandmother) and Doty (uncle) until 11 pm. It's likely Jonathan will be released for home care at the end of next week.
Thanks, thanks, thanks for the cards and food and prayers that continue to inundate us. We will forever grateful.

Thanks so much for the news!!! The blog was down (blank) for over 24 hours, so I was worried that you just didn't want to hear from us ...we are very needy. Sure hope I will be able to find ABC Nashville on our cable here in West Tennessee. We thank God for continued progress and healing . We look forward to meeting the Shaubs at a Vandy game in the fall. The Evans

Kyiv thanks the Shaubs for continuing to give us updates! We are glad that Jonathan is doing better and enjoyed seeing the pics from Otter Creek camp. Too bad we will miss the TV special. We continue to pray for all of you.

You can bet the Arnold house will have the program tuned in and taped.
Praying for continued healing, blessings, and no delays in Jonathan getting home.

Shaubs,
We always knew Jonathan was star quality.....now we know it!!! Cannot wait until then to see him in the flesh...we have been using self control in staying away from visits, but know we cannot hold out much longer...we continue to praise God for his continued blessings on the Shaubs, and are confident that His love and comfort will continue to rain down.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow(sorry, I think I stole that from another blogger!) Love, Linda
Saw the special on TV last night!! Those shots from the beginning with you in the hospital were daunting!! But then, the footage of you now were great!! You have such a contagioius smile!! I think my favorite part was the shots of you walking up the stairs..........what a miracle!!
Continued prayers,
ginge
Jonathan -
I fully appreciated the story on News2 last night. I'm adding your blog to My Yahoo so I can keep up with.
Truly, you have an incredible story! I believe God continues to write your story as a greater part of HIS story. Who knows why He has chosen this path for you to walk... only Him. He's a wild God and His ways are not ours. I think everything God does is to bring others to Himself. I know this walk is tough for you... press in... there is a purpose!
May He continue to draw you to Himself and may you continue to follow.
All the best,
Dennis
Keep your head up and always remember how far you've come! Thanks for letting us in NY stay "in the loop" and for giving us "the 411" as the kids say these days. As always, everyone at "The Pres" is rooting for you.

Jonathan-
What a star you are! The segment on you was great and really showed the determination you have to get better. I don't think many of us would be able to go through what you have. You are an amazing young man. Sharon, you looked so young on TV. I just sat there and thought, "She has been through all this and she has no wrinkles and shows no signs of stress!" Of course I know you and David have had more stress on you the past five months than any of us would ever want, but you rally looked good. You did a good job with the interview, also. I agree with Ginger, the pictures from the beginning in the Pres. were almost too much to look at, but just remember how far J. has come. Amazing!
I enjoyed seeing you all and visiting for a while. Hope this is the week J. makes it home.
Love to you all,
Elisabeth
How sad I am that I have been away from my computer so long that i have missed out on sooo much!
If anyone taped the show I would love to see it!
I am so happy that things are looking good to go home soon. I continue to pray that the donor sites will heal. I am so thankful to our God for the healing that He has brought.
May God continue to bless you all!
Karen
For us in other states, is there any way we can see the segment that was on TV? Surely with all the modern technology there must be someone who can hook us up!
Janet in Colorado
I, too, did not get to see the interview, but I think someone in Nashville taped it for me. I am SO anxious to see it!!! Continue all your hard work on your road to recovery...know that we continue to pray for you. Hope you are able to be outside this week, after Dennis, since the HUMIDITY is DOWN and it feels wonderful. We love all of the Shaubs! The Evans
The web site of the station is www.wkrn.com
I haven't seen the video up, but maybe if enough people email them, they'll make it available.
