Little Bits of News
After a month in New York, I returned to Nashville yesterday. I have lots of little tidbits of news about Jonathan. Big news first, he will most likely be discharged early -either this coming Wednesday or Friday. So, everyone is excited and stressed about that news. Jonathan is slowly working his way to some sort of normalcy again. My mom bought him a couple pairs of drawstring pants and a couple of layering T-shirts to hide the blood on his back. They are planning an outing for today, so I am sure one of them will report on that later. Jonathan also got his phone reactivated, and he has the same phone number he had before and is on verizon. Jonathan is back as he said himself. He also got me in trouble on Saturday night, which is nothing new. We went to 8 West to use the computer and talk to the nurses, and as we were leaving, I said, "Jonathan do we need to tell anyone?" He answered, "No, it is fine." When we returned to the rehab unit, roughly two hours later, the nurse informed us that everyone was looking for Jonathan...they even called security. So, Jonathan is definetly back to his michievious self! After a month of dressing changed, wounds, walks, workouts, dilodizzle, late nights, lunches, American idol, grey's anatomy, visitors, and take-out dinners...I hated to say goodbye. He looks great, though, and many of his visitors were suprised by his good appearance! So, watch out Jonathan is strong and healing everyday.

Well, it looks as if I must go first on comments today. As is my custom, I check the blog regularly. Sounds great to know that mischief reigns, but it must have been a big-time hopsital concern there, JD.
I certainly hope the blogging continues. Keeping up with the Shaubs has become quite the new normal for most of us out here. I don't think we would function well without knowing "whas hapnin'."
I think funky drawstrings will be right in style. The brighter the better, the better to see you with, my dear.
My prayers, daily, are for courage, peace and healing for you JD. I do believe all these prayers are being answered SO WELL! This is the day the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad.
Much love, as always, to all Shaubs,
Nancy

Normalcy, a state of being that has been absent from the Shaub life for far too long.
Praying for more normalcy and greater healing.

Jonathan,
What great news to know that you will be discharged from the Pres this week!! My prayer is that you are on the verge of entering a season of abundant blessing, and new, long-awaited desires of your heart. My goodness, you sure deserve God's favor to be lavished upon you in the form of the deepest desires of your heart! Not that you haven't already found very high favor in God's eyes and heart. Please, please, please continue to update your blog with stories of progress and the daily happenings of your journey of faith. My heart and spirit have been incredibly encouraged and edified by your journey thus far and I cannot wait to read the occurances of God's continued faithfulness and favor one you, one of His most beloved sons. My love and prayers continue asking for continued healing, new milestones, and daily joy. Keep fighting. You are a champion in my opinion. Be blessed this week.

Megan, thanks for filling us in on your month in NY and welcome back home. Jonathan, I knew when you started feelig better and began rehab there would be no stopping you as far as how quickly you would progress. Congrats on breaking out of there! Sharon, you are probably a little apprehensive about J.'s coming home (to the apt.)but they wouldn't let him go if they did not feel he was ready. You both will do fine. I will pray for a smooth transition for all of you and still for healing on those wounds. There are lots of people here looking forward to the day, Jonathan, when you return home to Nashville. Until then, you're thought of and prayed for daily.
Love,
Elisabeth
I find that I have trouble coming up with words...so, you may ask...why bother to blog if you have no words? Just want you to know the joy I feel at your progress and imminent release from the hospital, how grateful that you have had such good medical care at the Pres, not the least of which being the loving attention of nurses Mom, Nicole, Megan, Dad, etc...,the faith-building exercise of watching you via cyberspace struggle through an unspeakable accident and seeing you triumph. I just want you to know how much I love each of the Shaubs and am longing for the day that you return to Nashville. My fondest wish at this moment is to do something to serve you, Sharon, so I will continue to pray fervently for your strength and nursing skills as you and Jonathan begin the next segment of this journey. And, Jonathan, I will pray that you listen to your mother...no arguments...she's in charge!! Yeah, right! Have a blessed day. I love y'all. Marilyn
What a wonderful way to start a week. No words can describe how wonderful it is to hear about the progress. Our prayers will continue as this phase is enetered. Thanks so much for blogging and letting us know what to pray for and how things are going. My hope is that it will continue until maximum improvement is obtained. We love you all.
