Another Move
I thought that everyone should know that Jonathan has moved yet again to a rehab facility in Nashville. He is still very uncomfortable and experiencing a great deal of pain plus fighting off three ingrown toenails...of all thing!! An ambulance picked him up today around 2, and he and my mom have been settling in and adjusting today. Visiting hours are pretty strict at the rehab hospital because he will be working out for a large part of the day. Although, we know Jonathan is looking forward to visitors, we would like to request a little more time while we all adjust to his new setup. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. Visting time will come!! We have no idea how long the rehab will take, but we would guess a week or so until he comes home.

Thanks for keeping us posted......I for one get very worried when I do not hear anything for awhile....well, it seems like a long time to me!! :-)
And being a mother, worrying is second nature!!
I hate that JD is in so much pain and will keep that specifically in my prayers. We want what is best for him and you all, so we will stay away until you give the signal, and then WATCH OUT!!
I hope this transition period is over soon and that Jonathan is back to rehab and moving forward in this journey.
hugs to all,
lots of love
and continued prayer,
ginge
Thanks for the update. We will just keep praying!! Kyiv friends remain concerned. --Chris and Lena
I echo the previous thank yous. I too will be praying specifically for less pain and an easy transition. I love y'all and you are never far from my thoughts. Blessings to each of you, Marilyn
The Lord says to pray boldly and specifically. This morning as I begin my day after several days of terrible "not normal," my prayers are with all you Shaubs. Boldly and specifically I am praying for the discomfort and pain to be alleviated and then GONE!
Again, keep in mind the Lord is faithful and He is good. This is the day He has made, let's rejoice and be glad.
Much love to you all, Nancy
Shaubs,
My prayers are with you this week as you continue on. I know it is hard to find a sense of new normal living even thought J is back in Nashville. The Lord will comfort you with every step of this on-going battle.
Remember that HE is the source of life and everything GOOD. HE is the reason J has gotten so far and HE will restore all that is in HIS plan for your family.
Love,
A Ray
J,
When it rains, it pours! I cannot imagine going through the pain caused by your injuries plus THREE ingrown toenails. OUCH. Satan is trying to get you down. Keep fighting, don't let him win friend. I continue like every other verocious blogger, to keep you in my heart and prayers. You are and you will continue to be victorious. What a God-breathed testimony you will have when this ordeal is past! The harvest will be abundant. Continue to take one day at a time and to continually praise the Maker of all good things. Satan cannot live where there is constant praise. You are an "oak" and I praise God for you daily.

Hang tough Jonathan. (oops, sorry for the bad pun :) thats for you Kevin C.).
Seriously, Jonathan, we are so happy you are back in Nashville, but are very aware of your pain, the disruptions, and the stress the relocations create.
We still pray every night for your healing and your strength, emotional, physical, and spiritual.
Peace to all the Shaubs,
Tony, Anita, and Maria
Megan, thank you for letting us know what is going on and how J. is doing. I'm so sorry to hear about the toenails. Will had several in high school and they can be very painful. It is strange though that he would get them just lying in bed the way he has for months. I will pray that the pain from that goes away and nothing more has to be done about them.
I hope you are continuing to heal, Jonathan. We all are anxious to see you, but respect the fact that you need time and are not up to company yet. We know you will let us know when the time is right. I hope the PT and OT at the rehab center goes well and you are soon able to go home. Prayers are for all of you, but especially you, J.
Love, Elisabeth
Is there still a way to send emails to Jonathan? I remember in one of the blogs you giving us an email address but I can't find it anymore. If we can still communicate with him through email can you give us that information again? I am so happy that he is back in Nashville and can only pray that God will make this transition as smooth as possible. Thanks so much
Jonathan,
Knowing that you have been through so much and this transition is bringing its own suffering, I am going to post this for your amusement. I hope it provides just a small dose of humor, albeit very bad humor, to lighten your day just a little.
One of your silent blog readers (spineless wimp!!) emailed me yesterday with some more puns after reading my post. He gave me permission to use at my discretion (not knowing I have none). I think his intention was for me to take the fall. So I am giving him unnamed credit. Here are his puns that he does not have the courage to post (is the shame working yet, KC?)
You are also free to use, at your discretion:
* Sounds like you needed a toe truck, not an ambulance
* Hope your toes don't put you in too much of a jam
* Hope your toes heel soon
* If you had been a punter, you'd be eligible for workman's comp
* Now that you're home, your dog can give you a pet-icure
* With nails that long, everywhere you walk is "holey" ground
* All that hospital food must have given you toe-main
* As a church body, we don't care about your mortal toes. We are
concerned about your immortal sole.
* Are the medical expenses different now that instead of footing the bill you're billing the foot?
This is, of course, my silent cry for help...
If you actually laugh at any of these, I hope it doesn't hurt too much. But having read them, probably not much risk.
We love you Jonathan. We know how serious your struggle is. I pray the humor doesn't imply differently. I know I speak for KC too! We are praying continually for you,
Tony
Well, Tony, you wouldn't believe how very much like my daughter Sallye your well-constructed puns are! She must be laughing her head off this day. They are great and must help JD. Thanks!

I will continue to pray for Jonathan's healing and hope it won't be long until his pain is gone. Just being in Nashville should be easier on all of the family and hopefully it won't be long until Jonathan can be out and about.
Yours in Christ,
June Calhoun
