Jonathan Keeps on Walking

IT'S SATURDAY MORNING IN NEW YORK AND SINCE I'M LEAVING THIS AFTERNOON I THOUGHT I'D SEND AN UPDATE. DAVID ARRIVED A FEW HOURS AGO AND PLANS TO STAY FOR SEVERAL DAYS. HE'LL BE HERE FOR NICOLE'S GRADUATION (WAY TO GO NICOLE!). SHE WILL HAVE HER MASTERS DEGREE FROM COLUMBIA. SHE HAS NO FIRM PLANS YET FOR WHAT SHE'LL DO NEXT BUT I'M SURE THAT WILL BE DECIDED SOON.

IT'S PROBABLY NO SURPRISE TO THOSE OF YOU WHO KNOW JONATHAN THAT HE IS NOW WALKING WITHOUT A CANE DOWN THE LONG HOSPITAL HALLWAY. YESTERDAY HE WALKED ONE WAY WITHOUT A CANE AND BACK WITH THE CANE. TODAY HE WALKED BOTH WAYS WITHOUT A CANE. EVERYDAY HE PUSHES HIMSELF TO DO MORE. IT IS SUCH A BLESSING TO SEE.

IN MY LAST BLOG I ENCOURAGED YOU ALL TO SEND CARDS AND LETTERS. I'D LIKE TO AGAIN ENCOURAGE THAT. IT'S SOMETHING VERY SIMPLE BUT SO VERY IMPORTANT TO JONATHAN. HE LOVES TO HEAR FROM HIS FRIENDS. FOR THE PRESENT HIS ADDRESS IS:
NEW YORK PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL
ATTN: JONATHAN SHAUB, #426
GREENBERG PAVILION, 8 WEST
525 E. 68TH STREET
NY, NY 10021

HE WILL MOVE WITHIN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS TO A REHAB UNIT. WE WILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN THAT HAPPENS AND GIVE YOU HIS NEW ADDRESS.

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOU PRAYERS AND ENCOURAGEMENT. IT IS SO SUSTAINING FOR EVERYONE.

LOVE,
JENNIFER

What great news to be walking and then without a cane! Sounds like there "Ain't no mountain high enough!" So....come on out to Colorado with your family and climb a mountain with our family! There's a new goal for you and it sounds like you always like to meet your goals! Hang in there! I am awed and grateful to all the answered prayers.

Sounds like our prayers are being answered. How wonderful that Jonathan is walking on his own without a cane. I know this is encouraging to him and his family.
I am so happy for all of you.

Dear Shaub Clan,

What an incredible victory!! I praise God for Jonathan's perseverance and determination. I am not at all surprised to read of his great strides toward long term progress in the least. I sense that J is a young man that will not allow Satan to hold him down and claim his journey of faith. Today I claim 1st Timothy 6:11 for you which states, "But you, man of God, flee from all of this and pursue godliness, righteousness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. I ask that the Holy Spirit anoint you, Jonathan with continued healing, peace, paitence, and a rich assurance of his presence with you daily. You ARE becoming an oak of righteousness. Be blessed. I send love and prayers to you as I remember you daily.

Dear, dear Shaubs,

Ditto to Lauren Cunningham's comments!!!! This is such wonderful news! I know you can all see more light from the end of the tunnel.

Glad David can be with you in NYC for a few days. This should make you all feel better.

God is good and He is faithful, this is His day, let's rejoice and be glad.

Love to you all, Nan

WOW!
I am blown away by Jonathan's progress. After being away from the computer for a few days I loved coming back to amazing news! I remember when you learned to walk, at a very young age I might add. You were quite pleased with yourself then. I can only imagine that there is probably that same look on your face as was there when you took your first step. We are so proud of the way you have used that determination..now and in the past.
I pray that you will continue to heal.
And, when you make that entrance into Otter Creek, be sure to let us all know so we can be present. We will all be trying to see who can stand first!! haha
Love to all
Karen
